GeForce 100

Code named, G98, the GT 100 was the first GeForce 100 series card released and also the start of a whole new series class.

Built for Windows Vista, this card was released in mid 2009 with 512 megabytes of VRAM. The maximum supported resolution this card is 2560x1600 through the DVI or 2048x1536 through VGA. This card also supported the use of DirectX 9 and 10 and the use of OpenGL 3.3.

This new series card generated 2.15 GPixels a second and generate 4.3 GTextures a second.

Although these fillrates are really slow now, the games in time period that the card were released didn't have a problem running on this card.

CUDA cores were also on this graphics card. Cuda cores increase the computing power of the GPU and increases perfomance. This card is from 2009 and the games at that time weren't as graphics intensive compared to now so the amount of CUDA cores is at only 8.

Another item to note is the use of DDR2 DRAM. The card series before it, the GeForce 9 Series, used mostly DDR3 DRAM and only had the starting cards use DDR2 DRAM. The start of this new set of cards also starts with DDR2 and eventually switches to DDR3 on the GT 140 and GTS 150.
